Coaches Weinke's Blog

"Sorry for the delay in my blog entries but it's been quite crazy, hectic and chaotic all in good ways. I'm slowly getting accustomed to the heat (kinda) and the town definitely isn't downtown Minneapolis but I like it so far, everyone in the community and college are extremely friendly. I have great mentors and coaches to look up to like, Coach Smithers, Coach Carter, Coach Darnell, Coach Macon and Coach Boyette. They've all greeted me with open arms and I couldn't ask for a better staff to work with. As far as on the field I want to recognize my linebackers Pegus, Sutton, Brown, Richardson, Brown and Taylor. All are great young men and have given their all in summer conditioning and camp so far. So long story short.....I love it here and can't wait until September 2nd for our 1st game in Decatur, MS." - Coach Weinke 8/12/10

"I can finally make it official and say I'm the Linebacker coach at Northeast Mississippi CC in Booneville, MS as of July 5th, 2010. NEMCC is a Division 1 NJCAA and plays in arguably the toughest NJCAA conference in the country which is the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC). I first want to thank Head Coach Smither for the unbelievable opportunity to be able to coach at such a high level. It gives me the opportunity to coach and finish my bachelor of science degree as well. I just got down here to Mississippi and will be blogging as much as I can since the change from Minnesota to Mississippi is so dramatic but also great in so many ways! GO TIGERS!" - Coach Weinke 7/12/10

Treasure Island Brutaal "The Verdict" Results

"I just want to wish luck to Jeremy "Hawk" Hamilton the best of luck at his upcoming Strikeforce Contract Tournament semi-final match this Saturday night on June 19th at Treasure Island Casino in Minnesota. We at www.FreddieWeinke.com are showing our support by sponsoring a patch on Jeremy's fighting shorts and will have pictures of his fight as soon as we're allowed to....I also just want to say as of July 5th I will officially be a collegiate coach in the state of Mississippi and want to thank all my family, friends and fans for all their support and will do my best to represent Minnesota." - Coach Weinke 6/16/10

"I really don't have much to say this month since not a lot has changed as far as my career or personal life goes. The college I will be coaching at has come up in some sporting blogs and media outlets but I can not give my official statement until everything is set in stone. But I did however want to wish my buddy Brett "Da Grim" Rogers the best of luck in his upcoming bout for the Strikeforce World Heavyweight Championship on Showtime this Saturday May 15th starting at 9PM versus Alistair Overeem. Brett is a true role model that kids can look up to which is unique these days in professional sports. Brett has never gave up no matter what obstacle he's faced in his life but I just wanted to publicly wish him the best of luck and can't wait to watch him become a World Champion on May 15th in St. Louis." - Coach Weinke 5/11/10

"I first want to apologize to all my followers and supporters of my website and sponsors in the delay of my coaches blogs. Some of you may or may not know but I have accepted an offer from a Division 1 NJCAA member but can not release exact information right now. I'm very anxious, nervous but overall just excited for the pre-season camp to start in early July and do what I love best; coach, teach and mentor the game of football to young men. I also want to thank my family, friends, my new family and especially Rayah B. for their patience, support and just overall caring that can be overlooked and/or not appreciated sometimes in this fast paced life style we all live in. Words can never describe how lucky and grateful I am to have all the groups of people mentioned above...on a complete side note non-football coaching related, I want to thank Mark Dale and Joey Clark from Ambition MMA Training Academy for a lot of life lessons. They have taught me so much in LIFE in just desire, kindness and determination to achieve dreams and goals. I'm not ever going plug or endorse any sponsor or business (there is a full page for that already) in my coaches blogs but if you are looking to train in the MMA profession, group studio training, personal training or just want a very affordable gym to workout at. I encourage you to go to Ambition Training Academy/BodyBlast Studio and sign up ASAP! Its truly a family there and they will accept you with open arms which is not seen anywhere in these times. I'm very proud to be a part of the Ambition MMA family and even when I do leave out of state to coach" - Coach Weinke 4/20/10
