Retirement Announced 4/07/09
Freddie has unofficially retired from pro ball but has accepted his first coaching job at North Dakota State College of Science as the Linebackers coach starting this 2009 Season. Freddie released this statement:
"I first want to thank my family, friends and coaches who have supported me throughout my playing endeavor's. It's hard for any athlete to hang up the pads but right now my body is telling me, it's about that time to stop playing. I am however very excited to start my coaching career and want to thank Coach Parsons at NDSCS for my first college coaching opportunity and I look forward to helping the student-athletes like my coaches have in my playing career." - Freddie Weinke
